Terms of Service
Effective August 14, 2026 · Version 2026-08-14
These Terms of Service are a binding agreement governing access to the Showstock website and livestock-management application (“Showstock,” “Service,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account, accepting these Terms during registration, accepting an account created for you, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Showstock.
Adult account owner and youth use
The operation owner who creates or controls a subscription must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. Showstock screens an owner’s age before requesting registration details but does not save the birth month or year used for that check. You must provide accurate information, protect passwords, authenticator devices, recovery codes, and other account credentials, and promptly remove unauthorized users.
Children under 13 may not receive a direct Showstock login. An adult may maintain records about a child on the adult-managed operation account. A team user age 13 through 17 may receive a login only when a parent or legal guardian has authorized it and the adult operation owner supervises its use. If records, photos, videos, names, schedules, or other information concern a minor, the operation owner represents that the owner has all required parental, guardian, school, organization, photographer, and participant permissions to submit and manage that information.
Permitted use and account responsibility
You may use Showstock for the authorized livestock operation connected to your account. You are responsible for activity by all users you invite and for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of information they submit. You may not access another operation without permission; probe or bypass security; disrupt the Service; introduce malware; scrape or reverse engineer protected portions of the Service; impersonate another person; upload unlawful, infringing, abusive, or malicious content; or use Showstock in violation of law, show rules, registry requirements, medication rules, or another person’s rights.
Free trials, recurring subscriptions, and express billing consent
Paid subscriptions begin with one 7-day free trial for eligible new operation owners. Stripe collects a payment method at checkout, but the recurring plan charge is not made during the trial. Before checkout, Showstock displays the selected plan, billing interval, amount, trial length, renewal terms, and cancellation method. By separately accepting the subscription disclosure and completing Stripe checkout, you expressly authorize Showstock and Stripe to charge the displayed monthly or yearly price, plus applicable taxes, when the trial ends and at each renewal until canceled. Showstock retains a record of this consent as permitted or required by law.
Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first subscription charge. To cancel online, sign in, open Account & plan, choose Manage billing or cancel, and complete cancellation in Stripe’s secure customer portal. If you cannot access the portal, submit a private support request using the owner email and request cancellation. Cancellation stops future renewals; unless the portal states otherwise, access continues through the end of the paid billing period. Deleting an operation does not cancel an active Stripe subscription. Charges already paid are not prorated or refunded except when required by law or expressly stated at checkout.
The account owner can download a current subscription disclosure from Account & plan. Showstock may provide trial-ending, annual, renewal, or price-change notices through the account notification center, permitted phone notifications, Stripe, or the contact information associated with the account. You remain responsible for keeping account contact information current.
Founder-approved complimentary accounts do not enter paid checkout and are not billed unless the founder first changes the account’s payment status and the adult operation owner separately completes paid checkout.
Plans, changes, taxes, and failed payments
Features, record limits, media limits, and user limits depend on the selected plan. Prices are shown before purchase. We may change future pricing or plan features with reasonable advance notice when required. A price change will not alter a period already paid. You are responsible for applicable taxes and accurate billing information. Access may be limited or suspended after a failed or overdue payment, subject to applicable law.
Your records, media, and permissions
You retain ownership of livestock records, photos, videos, documents, and other content you submit. You grant Showstock a nonexclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, process, transmit, back up, resize, and display that content solely as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary backups, legal retention, or content another authorized user has independently retained.
You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to upload the content, including permission from photographers, depicted individuals, parents or guardians of depicted minors, animal owners, and operation owners when applicable. Do not upload confidential registry, veterinary, financial, or personal information unless you are authorized to store and share it with the users you permit.
Showstock software and branding
Showstock and its software, design, text, branding, and other service materials—excluding customer content—are owned by Showstock or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Your subscription provides a limited, revocable, nontransferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose; it does not transfer ownership of the software or brand.
Copyright and content complaints
If you believe content in Showstock infringes your copyright or other rights, submit a private support request with your name and contact information; identification of the protected work; the exact content and location at issue; a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized; a statement that the information is accurate; and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a complaint and may terminate repeat infringers. Knowingly submitting a false complaint may create legal liability.
Education records, AET, FFA, and 4-H
Showstock’s Future Ready, record-book, AET transfer, résumé, and scholarship features are independent organization tools. Showstock is not a school information system and is not an authorized representative of a school unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. Operation owners, parents, advisers, and users must have authority before uploading education records, student information, certifications, or organization records and should not upload Social Security numbers, full student identification numbers, or other information that is not needed.
Showstock is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Agricultural Experience Tracker (AET), the National FFA Organization, 4-H, any state or local FFA association, school, livestock registry, fair, or stock show unless expressly stated in writing. AET, FFA, 4-H, registry, fair, and show names and marks belong to their respective owners. Export formats and guidance are intended to help users organize information for manual review and transfer; they do not guarantee acceptance, eligibility, completeness, awards, scholarships, or compliance with any organization’s current rules.
Livestock, genetics, health, and business disclaimer
Showstock is a recordkeeping and planning tool, not a veterinarian, genetics laboratory, registry, nutritionist, accountant, attorney, insurance provider, livestock broker, emergency service, or professional breeding adviser. Pedigree tools, inbreeding estimates, genetic and trait predictions, EPD displays, carrier alerts, expected calving or farrowing dates, withdrawal or health reminders, growth projections, feed estimates, valuations, and similar outputs depend on customer-entered data and generalized assumptions. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular animal.
Showstock does not diagnose, prescribe, establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, or replace medication labels, veterinary directions, emergency care, or professional judgment. For an animal-health emergency, contact a veterinarian or appropriate emergency authority immediately. Showstock does not guarantee conception, live birth, genetic outcome, animal health, eligibility, registry acceptance, sale price, show placement, championship, profitability, or compliance with medication, animal-welfare, biosecurity, transport, tax, or show rules. Independently verify important decisions with qualified professionals and applicable registries, laboratories, veterinarians, show officials, and government authorities.
Automated tools, AI transparency, and prohibited uses
Showstock currently uses formula-based calculators, customer-directed templates, and automated timelines—not a generative-AI model or autonomous decision-maker. These tools organize customer-entered livestock information and produce planning estimates, totals, charts, timelines, and editable drafts. They do not replace human review or make decisions about a person’s legal rights, credit, insurance, employment, education admission, or government benefits.
You may not use Showstock or any automated feature to encourage self-harm, harm to another person, criminal activity, unlawful discrimination, infringement of another person’s rights, deceptive impersonation, sexual exploitation, child sexual content, biometric identification, or other unlawful conduct. See the AI & Safety disclosure for current inputs, outputs, limitations, safeguards, and reporting instructions.
Reminders, calendars, and essential records
Calendar feeds and reminders are conveniences and are not guaranteed to arrive, synchronize, or remain accurate. Do not rely on Showstock as the only notice for medication, withdrawal, pregnancy, birth, entry, travel, veterinary, safety, or other time-sensitive obligations. Keep independent copies of records essential to animal care, legal compliance, registration, taxes, insurance, sales, or show participation.
Third-party services
Showstock may link to or interoperate with third-party services such as Stripe and calendar providers. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party availability, account decisions, data handling, or acts outside Showstock’s reasonable control.
Electronic notices
You consent to receive agreements, disclosures, receipts, billing and renewal notices, security messages, and other service communications electronically through Showstock, Stripe, permitted phone notifications, or the email address associated with the account. You may save or print these Terms and can download the current subscription disclosure from the account page. Withdrawal of consent to electronic records may require closing the account if electronic delivery is necessary to provide the Service.
Availability, changes, suspension, and termination
The Service may occasionally be unavailable, delayed, changed, or discontinued. We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, unlawful conduct, security threats, misuse, infringement, material breach of these Terms, or risk to Showstock or others. Where practical and legally permitted, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure. You may stop using the Service at any time, but you must separately cancel any active subscription to stop renewal charges.
Warranty disclaimer
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWSTOCK IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, OR RESULTS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWSTOCK WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS, SALES, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITIES; ANIMAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, REPRODUCTIVE OUTCOME, OR SHOW RESULT; OR LOSSES ARISING FROM CUSTOMER DATA, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, UNDELIVERED REMINDERS, OR RELIANCE ON ESTIMATES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOWSTOCK’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SHOWSTOCK DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LEGALLY BE LIMITED.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Showstock and its owner, personnel, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your content, your operation’s use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights, except to the extent caused by Showstock’s own unlawful conduct.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and allow 30 days to attempt an informal resolution. Any dispute not resolved informally may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction where Showstock has its principal place of business, unless applicable law requires another forum. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking appropriate emergency or injunctive relief.
General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement concerning the Service unless a separate written agreement applies. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our written permission; we may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and disputes—will survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date and, when appropriate, additional notice or renewed acceptance. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
